Job summary

Lonza Singapore is seeking a hands-on Cell Culture Development specialist within Development Services at the Tuas site. You will execute mammalian cell line and upstream process development, supporting tech transfer to cGMP manufacturing, with close collaboration across site and global teams to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.

This role involves working in a dynamic environment using cutting-edge equipment, weekend rota work, and contributing to validation and characterization

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant Science field or equivalent.
• Practical laboratory experience in cell culture and lab-scale bioreactor runs.
• Experience in culture conditions for mammalian suspension cells.
• Understanding of recombinant protein expression using mammalian cell culture systems.
• Understanding of cGMP regulations.
• Good problem solving, analytical and teamworking skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Weekend working on a rota based system.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on lab work in the cell line and upstream process development team contributing to the development of processes suitable for technology transfer to the cGMP manufacturing teams.
• Develop understanding of cGMP manufacturing facility constraints and their impact on development activities.
• Contribute to process validation / characterisation activities by performing supporting laboratory scale studies.
• Interpret analytical data provided by the analytical team to define subsequent steps.
• Work as part of site and global project team and ensure timely delivery of project work stages.
• Deliver high quality communication to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
• Mammalian cell culture processes include Cell Line Development, Process Development (ambr15 miniaturized bioreactors, 10L laboratory scale bioreactors); Process Characterisation (ambr250 miniaturised bioreactors, 10L laboratory scale bioreactors).
