Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar capacity.
• Verbal and written communication abilities.

• Preferably with valid Food Hygiene / Food Safety certification.
• Training provided if lacking certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food service items 15 minutes before meal times according to the menu and standards.
• Keep food counters and displays clean and tidy at all times.
• Serve customers promptly and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness around counters, floors, walls and equipment.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance in food handling.
• Serve food using proper portions and serving ware.
• Attend weekly service meetings to improve service standards.
• Handle customer feedback and report actions to Unit Manager.
• Ensure safe operation of cleaning equipment and report faults.
• Wear provided uniform and maintain a neat appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Catering Assistant.

Our client, a well-established organisation in Singapore , is seeking service-oriented and responsible individuals to join their team as Catering Assistants .

In this frontline role, you will support the smooth daily operation of food service areas, ensuring meals are properly prepared for service, customers are attended to promptly, and high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and customer service are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all food service preparations are ready 15 minutes before meal times , including food according to the planned menu, garnishing, counter temperatures, food displays, serving equipment, merchandising posters and price tags.
• Ensure all food counters and displays are clean and tidy at all times .
• Serve customers promptly and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness around food counters, including floors, walls, counters and equipment.
• Ensure food served during meal times is prepared and dished out according to required hygiene and safety regulations , corporate standards and governmental requirements.
• Serve food using the assigned plates or holding receptacles and according to approved portion sizes.
• Attend weekly service meetings to improve and enhance service standards.
• Handle customer feedback appropriately and report actions taken to the Unit Manager after each meal.
• Ensure the safe operation of cleaning equipment and report any faulty equipment to management.
• Wear the provided uniform and maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Catering Assistant.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar capacity , with or without qualification.
• Communication Skills (verbal and written) - ability to convey meaning and obtain understanding.
• Organizational Skills - ability to group work in relation to the work being done, prioritizing and scheduling an even workflow.
• People Skills - ability to effectively relate to customers and others at all organizational levels, being sensitive to their needs.
• Conceptual Skills - ability to see the entire program objective, ensuring that individual programs work within the framework of the company's objectives.
• Customer Relations - ability to relate to customers with an attitude of friendliness while conveying confidence in the company's professionalism.
• Preferably possess a valid Food Hygiene / Food Safety certification .
• Candidates without a valid certification are also welcome to apply. Training will be provided , subject to a training bond agreement, and successful candidates will be sent for the required course.
