Job summary

Smorgasbord International Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Catering Assistant to help with event catering tasks in the kitchen and dining area.

You will assist with basic food preparation, wash and chop vegetables, clean utensils, and help pack take-out orders while following food safety guidelines.

The role requires an evening shift from 4:30pm to 10:00pm, the ability to work independently and proactively support teammates, and a commitment to delivering quality guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and cooperation with kitchen and service staff.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Effective time management during busy catering events.

Responsibilities

• Clean the kitchen by sweeping and mopping floors; washing work tables, cutting blocks and boards, refrigerators, walls and any other surfaces; separating recyclables from garbage, then remove all this waste material and cleaning the kitchen garbage cans at least once daily.
• Wash, clean & make dry the dishes, utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, kitchen equipment etc.
• Assist the cook; wash, peel and slice vegetables and fruit; measure and assemble ingredients for frequent orders and pack take-out orders
• Followed all food safety & hygiene guidelines and standards.
• Assist the cook to prepare necessary ingredients
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Catering Assistants help with all activities related to event catering. Their duties and responsibilities can include assisting with basic food preparation activities, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables. Cleaning and sanitizing all tableware and chafing dishes before catering events, setting dining tables and ensuring that guests have a quality dining experience.
