Job summary

STAR BUILDER AND TRANSPORT PTE. LTD. is seeking a skilled carpenter to install wooden structures and fit-out elements on site in Singapore.

You will read designs and work to specifications provided by architects and building code recommendations. Responsibilities include designing and installing cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation, selecting lumber, calculating fasteners, and liaising with clients and suppliers to meet budgets.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and designs.
• Ability to estimate fasteners and materials.
• Strong carpentry and installation skills.
• Good communication with clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
• Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges.
• Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer's budget and style.
• Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job.
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals.
• Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
