Job summary

GSK, a global biopharma company, invites Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents to join the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals. This 15-month on-the-job training positions you in production shift teams to learn cGMP, process automation and continuous improvement.

Based at the Singapore manufacturing site near Jurong, the trainee will execute key process operations, learn safety standards, and participate in improvement

Qualifications

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process / Technology / Engineering related.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shift operations.

Responsibilities

• To execute key process operations in accordance to established batch instructions and schedule to make APIs and intermediates as well as plant changeover.
• To learn Process and Workplace Safety and cGMP knowledge for manufacturing and to demonstrate understanding during execution.
• To identify opportunity for improvements and able to carry out short term improvement projects to achieve benefit.
• Inspects and maintains house-keeping of his assigned area for clean and safe working conditions as well as ensuring that personal protection equipment and safety equipment are maintained ready for use.
• Perform plant trouble shooting using appropriate problem-solving tool to minimize plant stoppages and safety or quality incidents.

Job description

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach-and-Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand.

The training programme is a 15 months of structured on‑job training with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Kindly note that monthly training allowances are CPF exempted.

Role Description

This position reports to the Production Superintendent in our Value Streams (VS 1, 2 or 3) team and is an integral member of Production Shift Team. Trainee to be involved in

We are looking for you with below attributes

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process / Technology / Engineering related

What you will learn

• Foundational on‑the‑job training experience working in cGMP and key Global Supply API manufacturing site with state of art manufacturing facilities, including first in class Continuous Manufacturing facility
• To train to be an advocate for Continuous Improvement, with introductory basics on Lean Sigma concepts and coaching by supervisors to complete practical application through completion of improvement project
• Ability and willingness to work on 12‑hours shift operations
