Job summary

GSK is offering a 15-month Career Conversion Programme (CCP) on-the-job training for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals in Singapore. The programme targets Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents and provides monthly training allowances CPF-exempted.

Trainees will work in Production Shifts under VS 1, 2 or 3, learn cGMP, Lean Sigma basics, and contribute to process improvements, with 12-hour shifts starting January 2025.

Qualifications

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process / Technology / Engineering related.
• Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Execute key process operations in accordance with batch instructions and schedule to make APIs and intermediates and manage plant changeovers.
• Learn Process and Workplace Safety and cGMP knowledge for manufacturing and demonstrate understanding during execution.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and carry out short-term improvement projects to achieve benefit.
• Inspect and maintain housekeeping in assigned area for clean and safe working conditions and ensure PPE and safety equipment are ready for use.
• Perform plant troubleshooting using appropriate problem-solving tools to minimize stoppages and incidents.

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach-and-Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand.

The training programme is a 15 months of structured on-the-job training with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Kindly note that monthly training allowances are CPF exempted.

Role Description:

This position reports to the Production Superintendent in our Value Streams (VS 1, 2 or 3) team and is an integral member of Production Shift Team.GSK is committed to an employee-orientated, high performance culture that emphasises process automation, quality compliance and continuous improvement.

Trainee to be involved in:

• To execute key process operations in accordance to established batch instructions and schedule to make APIs and intermediates as well as plant changeover
• To learn Process and Workplace Safety and cGMP knowledge for manufacturing and to demonstrate understanding during execution
• To identify opportunity for improvements and able to carry out short term improvement projects to achieve benefit
• Inspects and maintains house-keeping of his assigned area for clean and safe working conditions as well as ensuring that personal protection equipment and safety equipment are maintained ready for use
• Perform plant trouble shooting using appropriate problem- solving tool to minimize plant stoppages and safety or quality incidents

We are looking for you with below attributes:

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process / Technology / Engineering related

What you will learn:

• Foundational on-the-job training experience working in cGMP and key Global Supply API manufacturing site with state of art manufacturing facilities, including first in class Continuous Manufacturing facility
• To train to be an advocate for Continuous Improvement, with introductory basics on Lean Sigma concepts and coaching by supervisors to complete practical application through completion of improvement project
• Ability and willingness to work on 12-hours shift operations
