Job summary

WSH Experts Pte. Ltd. seeks a proactive Designated School Official (DSO) to maintain a visible presence in high-traffic areas, supervise daily routines, and support constructive discipline strategies while guiding students through reflective activities.

You will manage late-coming monitoring, detention records, investigations, and incident reports, ensuring accuracy and fairness. This role emphasizes confidentiality and collaboration with staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a visible adult presence in high-movement areas and conduct systematic patrols during recess, lunch breaks, and lesson transitions.
• Maintain supervisory presence in the canteen and Indoor Sports Hall during daily recess periods.
• Support proactive discipline strategies and assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation (where appropriate).
• Collect mobile phones and record latecomers arriving after 8am (Tuesdays to Fridays) or 9am (Mondays).
• Manage late comers' data and Detention list.
• Help establish a structured environment for suspended students to support learning continuity during suspension.
• Guide students through structured reflective activities and support their transition back into the classroom environment.
• Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews.
• Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate.
• Compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant Key Personnel for directions.
• Supervise detention sessions, including maintaining attendance and behavioural records.
• Coordinate reflection and restorative activities with Student Management Committee members.
• Facilitate student reflection on choices, consequences and improvement strategies, ensuring that detention tasks are meaningful and developmental in nature.
• Collate and manage discipline-related data, including latecoming records, discipline statements, and other relevant documentation.
• The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management Committee.
• The deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events
• The DSO is expected to: demonstrate professionalism, discretion and good judgement.
• The DSO is expected to: engage students respectfully and constructively.
• The DSO is expected to: uphold confidentiality and procedural fairness.
• The DSO is expected to: collaborate effectively with teachers and SM personnel.
