Chemoscience Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Calibration Technician to join the Laboratory & Technical Services team. You will calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, document results, and ensure compliance with quality standards to support precise analytical measurements.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in laboratory technology, calibration, metrology or related discipline.
• Experience as a calibration technician or similar role in a scientific/analytic environment.
• Knowledge of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty and precision techniques.
• Proficiency with calibration equipment and precision instruments.
• Familiar with quality assurance/control and ISO 17025 standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of balances, pipettes, spectrophotometers, chromatography equipment and similar devices.
• Carry out precision measurements and adjustments to meet specifications and regulatory standards.
• Document calibration procedures, results and adjustments per protocols.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and identify repair or replacement needs.
• Maintain calibration records and schedules for timely servicing.
• Liaise with manufacturers and external service providers for specialist repairs.
• Perform quality control checks and validation tests to verify accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal SOPs.
• Provide technical support to lab staff on instrument operation and maintenance.
• Contribute to calibration process improvements and documentation systems.

About the role

Chemoscience Pte Ltd is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our Laboratory & Technical Services team. This is a full-time position based in the Bukit Batok East West Region. As a Calibration Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our laboratory instruments and equipment. Your work will be essential to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance within our operations, directly supporting the delivery of precise scientific measurements and results that our clients depend on.

What you’ll be doing

1. Performing routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments including balances, pipettes, spectrophotometers, chromatography equipment and other analytical devices
2. Conducting precision measurements and adjustments to ensure instruments meet required specifications and regulatory standards
3. Documenting calibration procedures, results and adjustments in compliance with established protocols and quality assurance procedures
4. Troubleshooting instrument malfunctions and identifying when equipment requires repair or replacement
5. Maintaining detailed calibration records and schedules to ensure all equipment is serviced on time
6. Liaising with equipment manufacturers and external service providers when specialist repairs are required
7. Performing quality control checks and validation tests to verify instrument accuracy and performance
8. Ensuring compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements and internal standard operating procedures
9. Providing technical support to laboratory staff regarding instrument operation and maintenance
10. Contributing to the continuous improvement of calibration processes and documentation systems

What we’re looking for

1. A recognised qualification in laboratory technology, calibration, metrology or a related discipline
2. Proven experience working as a calibration technician or in a similar laboratory technical role, ideally within a scientific or analytical environment
3. Comprehensive knowledge of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty and precision measurement techniques
4. Proficiency in using calibration equipment and precision measurement instruments
5. Strong understanding of quality assurance, quality control and laboratory best practicesFamiliarity with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management standards
6. Excellent attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping abilities
7. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
8. Ability to work independently whilst maintaining effective communication with team members
9. Computer literacy and experience with laboratory management systems or data recording software
10. A commitment to safety and compliance within the laboratory environment
11. Preferred: Previous experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, mass spectrometry or spectroscopic equipment
