Job summary

PENTA-OCEAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the Project Manager on site at Loyang, Singapore. You will ensure works follow the project quality and safety plans, review drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors and the operations team to meet the master construction program.

The ideal candidate has a degree in civil engineering and at least five years of experience in construction projects, with familiarity of local codes and submission procedures.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Conversant with local codes and authority submission procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager in the daily execution of work
• Liaise with Professional Engineer on the Temporary works
• Liaise with consultants (QPS) for technical issues and coordinate the site activities with subcontractors
• Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project quality & safety plan, control and coordinate site works with the operations team as well as contractors
• Establish and implement controls to ensure that works are carried out safely according to the works programme and produce short term works plans
• Check construction drawings and highlight discrepancies
• Ensure that all corrective actions or preventive actions is implemented effectively, and quality records are properly maintained
• Monitor and control progress to make sure that turnover and cost is in line with master construction program
• Ensure material submission & approval, ordering and delivery are according to agreed schedules

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience in construction projects
