Job summary

J & L Career (Asia) Pte Ltd is seeking a procurement professional with 2+ years in an MNC manufacturing setting to manage procurement activities, supplier coordination, and data integrity across regions.

The role requires SAP proficiency, strong negotiation, and the ability to work across time zones. The position is a 1-year contract based in Singapore, with standard 9am–6pm hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience in an MNC manufacturing environment with procurement exposure.
• Understanding of MRP, inventory and production principles.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP.
• Able to work in a multi time-zone environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for commodities or assignments requiring application of sound purchasing principles, theories and concepts.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering to acquire inventory cost-effectively and in a timely manner, meeting customer demand.
• Process purchase requisitions, purchases/changes orders and RFQs to suppliers.
• Responsible for procurement data input and data integrity for business systems.
• Maintain supplier data, quotes, part numbers, and related information.
• Monitor cost, schedule and scope of subcontracts to negotiate best value.
• Interact with suppliers and Quality Department to resolve quality issues.
• Disposition of material Quality Notifications (QN’s).
• Implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and New Product Introductions (NPI).
• Perform RFQ for Asia localization.
• Follow NPI and production plans to deliver inventory and service targets.
• Support Global Sourcing Managers’ overall procurement strategies timely actualization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma holder with at least 2 years experience in an MNC manufacturing environment, handling procurement functions.
• Understanding in MRP, inventory and production principles

Job duties

• Responsible for commodities or assignments requiring application of sound purchasing principles, theories and concepts.
• Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner, thereby achieving optimum inventory cost and meeting customers’ demand.
• Processes purchase requisitions, purchase/change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
• Responsible for procurement of business system data input and integrity.
• Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information.
• Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.
• Interacts closely with suppliers and Quality Department to resolve quality issues.
• Disposition of material Quality Notifications (QN’s)
• Implementation of Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Perform RFQ for Asia localization.
• Follow NPI and production plans, to deliver inventory and service targets.
• Manage the performance of the supply base effectively and participate in Global Material initiatives.
• Support Commodity and Sourcing objectives
