Job summary

Medtronic is seeking an OPEX specialist to drive site-wide productivity, cost performance, and compliance in Singapore. You will support Lean deployment, DMAIC/Kaizen activities, and cross-functional teams to meet cost, quality, and productivity targets.

The role emphasizes data-driven process improvement, measurement, and mentorship within the Specialist Career Stream. You will contribute to a 3-year OPEX roadmap while collaborating across operating units.

• Plans, performs and implements process-improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma).
• Diagnoses and diagrams existing processes to identify waste.
• Leads cross-functional project teams and tracks progress.
• Develops metrics to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collects data to identify root causes of problems.
• Provides consultation on re-engineering techniques to improve quality.
• Delivers presentations and training on measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
• Surveys best practices and communicates progress to stakeholders.

Without this position, key continuous improvement initiatives—including Lean deployment, problem-solving facilitation, KPI governance, and cost-reduction projects—will slow down or stall, directly impacting our operational efficiency and delivery performance.This role is essential to maintain momentum on our 3-year OPEX roadmap, support ongoing DMAIC/Kaizen activities across all operating units, and ensure the site meets its strategic cost, quality, and productivity targets.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma).Diagrams and evaluates existing processes.Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams.Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.Collects data to identify root cause of problems.Measures performance against process requirements.Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes.Communicates team progress.Performs cost and benefit analyses.SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty.
