Business Development Director – LNG at Vopak

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, forge strategic alliances, and manage relationships with key industry stakeholders.
• Develop and present LNG storage and terminal opportunities to Vopak management, focusing on quantitative benefits and project risks.
• Negotiate and manage partnership and joint venture structures within the LNG storage and terminal business.
• Negotiate and manage key LNG storage and terminal contracts with customers and potential contractors, ensuring project alignment with objectives and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to optimize logistics and ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee market research and analysis for LNG to gas landscape in Southeast Asia and adjacent regions, adapting strategies to meet market demands.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to ensure timely project delivery while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
• Provide quarterly LNG market update reports, including short‑term and long‑term outlooks, and propose relevant strategies and actions.
• Support local staff development to move projects through execution to operations.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of commercial experience in the LNG industry, focused on origination, project development and execution.
• Extensive knowledge of LNG infrastructure development, key stakeholders, logistics, and regulatory frameworks (from supply or import projects).
• Proven ability to lead and manage complex deal structures.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams both locally and virtually worldwide.
• Familiarity with conducting business in Asia is a must.
