Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum three years at sea as Chief Mate aboard bulk carriers.
• One to two years in a comparable role on land.
• Experience on ocean-going BC boats larger than 20,000 GRT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations concerning vessel operations.
• Assist with issues between charterers and charter parties.
• Plan and oversee cargo operations, including examining stowage plans.
• Engage workforce during loading and unloading to prevent disagreements.

Skills

Strong written and spoken English skills

Education

Deck officer certification with a least COC class 2
