Job summary

Farrer Park Hospital is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support the Engineering team in maintaining medical devices and systems. You will assist engineers and managers, supervise external contractors, perform testing, calibration and preventive maintenance, and maintain equipment history records.

The role requires a Diploma in Biomedical/Electronic/Electrical Engineering with relevant experience or a NITEC certificate with higher experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Biomedical/Electronic/Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of relevant experience or NITEC certificate in Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Able to multi-task and work independently, with a hands-on approach to meet tight timeline.
• Self-motivated, able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineers, Senior Engineers and Manager in achieving the department's KPIs.
• Supervise and co-ordinate work performed by external contractors including part replacement, corrective recommendations, installation and other service-related activities.
• Monitor preventive maintenance by external contractor to ensure timely completion.
• Testing and commissioning of medical equipment.
• Update and maintain proper equipment history records.
• Attend to corrective maintenance.
• Perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance.
• Assess equipment put up for condemnation by end-user.
• Ensure BME testers and simulators are calibrated timely.
• Perform after office hour standby duty.
• Report/feedback to Engineers, Senior Engineers and Manager on service related issues.
• Participate both formal and informal quality work improvement projects.
• Perform any other duties assigned.
