Selby Jennings is seeking a commercially driven Biofuels Trader for a major global energy client to develop and manage trading across biofuels and feedstocks, supporting regional and global growth. You will drive profitability through market analysis, risk management, and execution of trading strategies in a dynamic environment.

The role requires strong trading experience, a proven profit track record, and ability to manage hedging and risk.

Qualifications

Experience trading physical biofuels.
Track record of generating trading profits.
Knowledge of risk management and hedging strategies.
Understanding of biofuels value chains, feedstock economics, and market fundamentals.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage physical and financial trading positions across biofuels and feedstocks markets.
Generate profitability through trading, market analysis, and risk management.
Identify, originate, and execute new sourcing, trading, and business development opportunities.
Manage portfolio exposure and implement hedging strategies to mitigate market risks.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and trading counterparties.
Negotiate and secure long-term supply and offtake agreements.
Optimize storage, logistics, and supply chain activities to maximize portfolio value.
Monitor and communicate market intelligence, regulatory developments, and trading opportunities to internal stakeholders.
Partner closely with Trading, Refining, Marketing, Emerging Energy, and other commercial teams to support business objectives.
Support regional compliance requirements and contribute to the growth of the biofuels platform.
