Job summary

Cheeky Times Pte Ltd is a dynamic cafe in Singapore seeking a passionate Matcha Barista to join our Upper Thomson Central Region location. You will craft espresso-based drinks, matcha and tea to high standards, while delivering friendly service.

As part of the team, you will maintain equipment, manage stock, process payments with POS, and help create a welcoming atmosphere in a food-safe environment.

Qualifications

• Min 1 year experience as a Barista in a café or hospitality setting.
• Knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods and espresso machine operation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to consistency in beverage preparation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.
• Ideally, certification in barista training or coffee preparation (desirable but not essential).
• Familiarity with café POS systems and payment processing (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a variety of espresso-based drinks, matcha, tea and other beverages to exacting standards.
• Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other café equipment in optimal condition.
• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, whilst providing knowledgeable recommendations.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the café, particularly in the coffee preparation area.
• Managing stock levels of coffee beans, milk and other beverage supplies, alerting management when replenishment is needed.
• Creating latte art and other speciality coffee presentations to enhance the customer experience.
• Processing payments and handling transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems.
• Providing friendly and attentive customer service, building positive relationships with regular customers.
• Working collaboratively with team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Following food and beverage safety protocols and procedures at all times.

About the role
