Job summary

Shopee Singapore is seeking a Banking Database Administrator to manage and optimize large-scale databases for our digital banking platform. You will oversee capacity planning, backups, security, and performance tuning while collaborating with development teams to design robust data solutions.

The role requires 2+ years as a DBA in banking/finance or related internet services, with hands-on MySQL experience and strong Linux scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years as a DBA in banking, financial, or Internet services.
• Hands-on MySQL experience is mandatory.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or Golang.
• Strong Linux system operations and shell scripting.
• Detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Banking database administration including capacity planning, backups, recovery, security, and optimization.
• Support the development team for database designing, creating, optimizing, and troubleshooting.
• Review existing software architecture and contribute to future database architecture.
• Define and develop projects to reduce database operating costs and automate tasks.
• Develop and deliver documentation and training on database best practices.
• Research and develop new technologies for high-availability and performance.
