Job summary

ByteDance in Singapore is hiring a Software Engineer for the Data Management Suite team. You will build a large-scale data platform, focusing on ingest, development, catalog, security, and governance. Expect to work on core systems across the platform with global impact.

You will design a unified data development platform, manage distributed states, and develop a high-performance scheduling system while collaborating with teams worldwide. Regular onboarding by year-end is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with at least one backend language such as Java, Go or Python.
• Strong foundation in software development, data structures, and algorithms.
• Exposure to software design and architecture, testing and launching software.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot; exposure to big data tech such as Hadoop, ClickHouse and Flink.

Team IntroductionThe Data Management Suite team builds products that support the full lifecycle of data pipelines, including data ingestion and integration, data development, data catalog, data security, and data governance. These products serve a wide range of business scenarios and help data engineers and data scientists significantly improve productivity.As a Software Engineer on the Data Management Suite team, you will have the opportunity to build, optimize, and scale one of the largest data platforms in the world. You will gain hands‑on experience working on core systems across the data platform ecosystem, and your work will have a direct impact on the company’s core products and hundreds of millions of users.We are looking for talented individuals to join our team. • Design and implement a unified data development platform to improve the efficiency of global data producers, including intelligent IDE capabilities, workflow management, and multi-engine integration.
• Explore efficient approaches to managing distributed states and synchronizing metadata between centralized systems and regional environments worldwide.
• Design and develop a high-performance, distributed scheduling system to manage large-scale tasks across different business lines throughout ByteDance.
• Work closely with partner teams across the company and around the world.
• Design and develop integrations with other systems across the big data ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification(s)- Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with at least one backend programming language, such as Java, Go, or Python.
• Preferred Qualification(s)- Strong foundation in software development, data structures, and algorithms.
• Exposure to software design and architecture, as well as testing and launching software products.
• Familiarity with web frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Exposure to data platform product development or big data technologies such as Hadoop, ClickHouse, and Flink.
