Job summary

ByteDance's ByteCloud team in Singapore seeks highly motivated graduates to help build and operate a global cloud platform. You will design and implement cloud infrastructure, focusing on multi-cloud governance, cost analysis, and scalable migration capabilities.

You'll work with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, integrate new tooling with AI infrastructure, and apply platform engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, CS, or related technical field.
• Proficiency in Go/Python/Rust/TypeScript and strong systems programming skills.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP), and distributed systems.
• Experience in infrastructure products (monitoring, logging, service mesh, storage).
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and large-scale system design.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Platform Direction: build a cloud management system with multi-cloud support and cost analysis.
• Billing and migration systems: establish cost dashboards and migrate large-scale microservices.
• Disaster recovery capabilities across multi-AZ and multi-cloud scenarios.

About the Team The Data Infrastructure

• ByteCloud team builds and operates ByteDance's internal cloud platform, providing the foundational cloud infrastructure that powers products and services used by billions of users worldwide.

ByteCloud delivers a comprehensive cloud platform covering the entire service lifecycle; from application development and deployment to service governance, multi-cloud management, and observability. Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Platform Direction:
  • Build a cloud management system, which has a general multi-cloud adaptation layer and improves the ecological capabilities of the R&D process.
  • Build a billing system, which establishes the cost analysis dashboard and cost optimization on the public cloud.
  • Build a cloud migration system, which automatically migrates large-scale microservices and storage clusters to the public cloud.
  • Build a disaster recovery system, and improve the system's fault detection and automatic recovery capabilities for multi-AZ and multi-cloud scenarios.
• Service Platform Direction:
  • Design, develop, and optimize the core platform services and ecosystem components;
  • Collaborate with AI infrastructure teams to integrate specialized tooling and execution environments;
  • Continuously improve platform efficiency and cost-effectiveness through system optimization;
  • Establish and enforce platform engineering best practices across internal product lines;

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in Go/Python/Rust/Typescript and strong systems programming skills.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP), and distributed systems.
• Experience in infrastructure products (e.g., monitoring, logging, service mesh, storage).
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and large-scale system design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PaaS platforms or service deployment systems
• Knowledge of AI/ML platform infrastructure and tooling
• Background in resource scheduling and optimization
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
