Job summary

ByteDance’s ByteCloud team in Singapore is seeking a graduate software engineer to help build and operate the internal cloud platform, enabling billions of users worldwide.

You will work on multi-cloud infrastructure, microservices migration, and platform tooling, collaborating with AI infrastructure teams, with onboarding by the end of the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Software Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Rust, or Typescript and strong systems programming.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP) and distributed systems.
• Experience with infrastructure products (monitoring, logging, service mesh, storage).
• Familiarity with cloud-native tech (Kubernetes, Docker) and large-scale design.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Platform Direction: build a cloud management system with a multi-cloud layer and improved R&D ecosystem capabilities.
• Build a billing system with a cost analysis dashboard and cost optimization on the public cloud.
• Build a cloud migration system to automatically migrate large-scale microservices and storage clusters to the public cloud.
• Build a disaster recovery system and improve fault detection and automatic recovery for multi-AZ/multi-cloud scenarios.
• Service Platform Direction: design, develop, and optimize core platform services and ecosystem components.
• Collaborate with AI infrastructure teams to integrate specialized tooling and execution environments.
• Continuously improve platform efficiency and cost-effectiveness through system optimization.
• Establish and enforce platform engineering best practices across internal product lines.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Proficiency in Go/Python/Rust/Typescript and strong systems programming skills.

Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP), and distributed systems.

Experience in infrastructure products (e.g., monitoring, logging, service mesh, storage).

Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and large-scale system design.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PaaS platforms or service deployment systems

Knowledge of AI/ML platform infrastructure and tooling

Background in resource scheduling and optimization

Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
