Global E-commerce is a discovery-driven e-commerce business, working to become a destination for users to discover and buy good products at affordable prices. We build a shopping experience that feels tailored to each user, and a platform merchants can rely on across live and short-video commerce. The Product Governance and IPR team builds the systems that keep listings authentic, compliant, and accurately presented, and that keep intellectual property respected across the marketplace.

Our work spans two connected areas. Product governance covers detecting counterfeit, prohibited, and low-quality listings, enforcing product information quality, and meeting regulatory requirements across global markets. IP protection covers proactive infringement detection, rights-holder tooling, and notice-and-takedown workflows aligned with legal frameworks including the DMCA and the EU DSA.

Together, these systems screen hundreds of millions of listings using rule engines, ML models, and LLM-based review. You will build the systems that keep the marketplace trustworthy, protecting buyers from counterfeits, respecting IP rights, and meeting regulatory requirements across global markets. TikTok Shop is a content e-Commerce business utilising international short video products as carriers.

We work on risk detection, fairness and sustainability of the e-Commerce ecosystem, content and product quality, and friction-free experiences.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Backend development experience in e-Commerce or complex business platforms.
• Proficiency in

Go or Java, with solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and common design patterns.

• Experience building and operating production services, with an understanding of availability, performance and maintainability.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools and the ability to incorporate them into day-to-day engineering work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with configuration platforms, low-code systems or template engines.
• Hands-on experience applying AI to engineering productivity or business workflows.
• Experience working across countries, languages or regions.
