Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join the Global E-Commerce Governance team in Singapore. You will help build and maintain core systems that keep listings authentic and compliant across live and short-video commerce, with a focus on scalable production services and AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

• Proficiency in Go or Java, with solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and common design patterns.
• Experience building and operating production services, with an understanding of availability, performance and maintainability.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools and the ability to incorporate them into day-to-day engineering work.

Product governance covers detecting counterfeit, prohibited, and low-quality listings, enforcing product information quality, and meeting regulatory requirements across global markets. IP protection covers proactive infringement detection, rights-holder tooling, and notice-and-takedown workflows aligned with legal frameworks including the DMCA and the EU DSA. Together, these systems screen hundreds of millions of listings using rule engines, ML models, and LLM-based review.You will build the systems that keep the marketplace trustworthy, protecting buyers from counterfeits, respecting IP rights, and meeting regulatory requirements across global markets.TikTok Shop is a content e-Commerce business utilising international short video products as carriers.
