Job summary

Apple in Singapore is seeking a self-directed Software Engineer to design and develop the control plane of our security platform. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency in Core Java, OOP, multithreading, and exception handling.
• Experience with Hibernate or JPA for object-relational mapping.
• Proficient in building RESTful web services and APIs.
• Expertise in JVM tuning, profiling, and optimizing Java applications.
• Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Good understanding of IP networking, BGP, NAT, and TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Data Engineering Leadership: Lead architectural design and implementation of scalable, low-latency data pipelines to process security data.
• Platform Engineering Leadership: Architect, deploy, and scale resilient micro-services and platform infrastructure for anti-abuse engines.
• Culture & Ownership: Build an ownership culture with end-to-end accountability for system health, performance, and deployment automation.
• Business Continuity & Resilience: Design automation, auto-healing, chaos testing, and CI/CD for rapid disaster recovery.
• AI Enablement & Developer Velocity: Drive AI-assisted development tools and modern practices to accelerate velocity and code quality.
• Data Architecture: Design large-scale distributed data stores for real-time risk evaluation and high-frequency lookups.
• Observability Strategy: Define telemetry, monitoring, and alerting to pre-empt performance and data quality issues.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers while collaborating with security researchers and leadership.
