Job summary

Tencent Singapore is seeking a motivated backend developer intern to join our global team. You will work with senior engineers on developing new projects and features from start to finish, focusing on robustness and scale for users worldwide outside mainland China.

This paid internship, of at least three months, offers hands-on software development experience, exposure to our core product and company values, and a potential pathway to a full-time backend role or related areas.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a CS/IS/CE program; strong interest in backend development.
Familiar with backend design, development and deployment practices.
Nice-to-have: experience with Docker/Kubernetes and Linux.

Responsibilities

Develop backend features for WeChat backend services.
Collaborate with Product and Safety teams to deliver robust and secure online services that meet business requirements.
Design and execute plans to improve data compliance, user safety, and service reliability worldwide.
Work with partners to define processes and develop internal/external tools for core operations (user ops, safety ops, developer ops, service reliability).
Assist other teams in making WeChat features available, safe, and compliant for users globally.
