Job summary

SHOPEE IP SINGAPORE PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and optimize digital banking backend services and platforms, delivering high-quality, secure code for scalable systems.

You will deeply understand business needs, collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, translate requirements into technical designs, and push for performance, reliability, and security in high-concurrency environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/IT/AI.
• At least 1 year full-time backend development in C++ or Python.
• Experience with agentic AI or Harness Engineering.
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, networks, OS.
• Experience with databases and middleware (MySQL, Redis, Kafka).

Responsibilities

• Participate in design, development, and optimization of backend services and platforms.
• Contribute to server-side architecture for high-performance, scalable systems.
• Translate business needs into technical designs and scalable features.
• Optimize performance, stability, and resource use in high-concurrency banking scenarios.
• Design internal developer tools, automation scripts, and workflows.
• Explore AI technologies and their banking applications.
