Job summary

Shopee's Marketplace Promotion Engineering team in Singapore is seeking a backend-focused Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable services for the Shopee Marketplace. You will contribute to robust systems, performance tuning, and AI-driven development workflows.

You will collaborate with product managers, QA, and operations, and you will help deliver impact across a highly cross-functional team while advancing the use of LLM/AI to optimise development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or a higher degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• Familiar with backend languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
• In-depth understanding of data structures, algorithms, networking, OS fundamentals.
• Familiar with Linux operating system and MySQL.
• Exposure to performance tuning of high-load systems and AI/LLM to aid development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services.
• Collaborate with the product team and provide technical inputs to support product decision making.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to the end solution.
• Execute and implement technical designs and troubleshoot issues related to business logic or performance.
• Collaborate in a highly cross-functional environment with fellow Engineers, PMs, QA, and Ops to deliver impact.
• Adopt and integrate LLM/AI to improve the overall development workflow.
