Job summary

OceanX, based in Singapore, is seeking a Software Engineer – AI and Data to design, build, and strengthen backend systems and data infrastructure. This role involves developing production-grade backend services and data pipelines essential for OceanX’s science and media platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend engineering, proficiency in Python, and experience with REST APIs and PostgreSQL. The position offers a collaborative work environment focused on excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating production systems from design to deployment.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale data systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production backend services.
• Develop scalable data architectures and pipelines.
• Partner with scientists and engineers to translate requirements.

Skills

Backend engineering expertise

Strong proficiency in Python

Experience with REST APIs

Familiarity with PostgreSQL

Experience with Kubernetes

Knowledge of DevOps principles

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
