Azure ML Backend Engineer – Generative AI & CI/CD

Job summary

FPT Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a skilled backend developer to build and maintain data and ML services, optimize databases, and deploy applications to Azure. You will automate model training and deployment using CI/CD while implementing metrics to verify model effectiveness.

The role requires collaboration with data scientists, software engineers, product managers and domain experts in an agile environment, with emphasis on scalable, reliable backend systems.

Qualifications

• Formal education in Computer Science or a related field, such as Software Engineering or Data Engineering
• 5 years of relevant work experience in developing backend services and working with relational databases
• Experience working on Microsoft Azure, OpenAI, Claude
• Experience working on Generative AI apps
• Experience working with cloud services, preferably Azure
• Experience with Python and related ML libraries (eg. Pandas, Pytorch)
• Experience with database languages (e.g. SQL)
• Experience with CI/CD, preferably Jenkins
• Experience with Docker
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team of data scientists, software engineers, product managers and subject domain experts
• Experience in Agile working environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for Data and ML
• Optimize and manage databases
• Deploy applications to Azure cloud leveraging on the full spectrum of the Azure cloud services
• Automate model training, testing and deployment using CI/CD
• Understand and implement metrics to verify effectiveness and soundness of the ML model
