Job summary

Argyll Scott partners with a multinational organisation to appoint an experienced Azure Data Platform Architect to lead the architecture and strategic development of its enterprise Data platform and AI capabilities. The role focuses on defining scalable, secure architectures, assessing existing capabilities and driving the adoption of modern Data and AI technologies across a complex business landscape.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud, Data or AI Platform Architecture.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure data platforms (Synapse, Databricks).
• Knowledge of AI platform architecture and enterprise AI/ML capabilities.
• Experience in large multinational organisations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Understanding of cloud security, governance and FinOps.

Azure Data Platform Architect

About the Role

We are partnering with an established multinational organisation seeking an experienced Azure Data Platform Architect to lead the architecture and strategic development of its enterprise Data platform as well as AI capabilities.

This role will be responsible for defining scalable platform architectures, assessing existing capabilities and driving the adoption of modern Data as well as AI technologies across a complex, multi-business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture and roadmap for enterprise Data, AI platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Foundry.
• Engage business and technology stakeholders to assess existing platform capabilities, understand requirements and develop a strategic roadmap for Data, AI adoption.
• Design scalable, secure and reusable platform architectures, establishing technical standards and best practices across data engineering, analytics and AI workloads.
• Provide architectural guidance on platform integration, security, governance and cost optimisation
• Collaborate with internal technology teams and external partners to translate business requirements into scalable Data and AI platform solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud, Data or AI Platform Architecture, with demonstrated expertise in designing enterprise-scale platforms.
• Strong Microsoft Azure expertise, with hands‑on architectural experience across data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Databricks.
• Good understanding of AI platform architecture, preferably Microsoft Foundry, and experience supporting enterprise AI/ML or Generative AI capabilities.
• Proven experience working within large, complex multinational organisations, with exposure to enterprise-wide platform architecture and transformation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Understanding of cloud security, architecture governance and FinOps principles, particularly in designing scalable and cost‑efficient platforms.
