Job summary

QUESS SELECTION & SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer to lead on-prem to AWS migrations across servers, databases, and applications. You will design landing zones, set up secure networks, and automate infrastructure using Terraform within a CI/CD framework.

You will validate migrations, monitor replication and performance, and optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and thorough runbooks are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure/cloud engineering.
• Hands-on experience in on-prem to AWS migration projects.
• Strong expertise in AWS MGN (Application Migration Service).
• Strong knowledge of AWS services: EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53.
• Strong understanding of networking: subnets, routing, VPN, Direct Connect.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Scripting knowledge: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Migration

• Plan and execute on-prem to AWS migrations for servers, applications, and databases.
• Use AWS MGN for lift-and-shift (rehost) server migrations.
• Use AWS DMS and SCT for database migrations, including heterogeneous migrations (e.g., Oracle/SQL Server to Aurora/RDS).
• Perform application and dependency discovery, migration assessments, and wave planning.
• Define migration strategies: rehost, re-platform, or refactor where applicable.
• Develop and execute migration runbooks, including cutover, validation, and rollback plans.
• Perform migration rehearsals and ensure successful production cutover with minimal business impact.

2. Cloud Environment Setup

• Design and implement AWS landing zones for migrated workloads.
• Set up new projects/environments in AWS aligned with best practices (networking, security, governance).
• Configure VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and connectivity (VPN/Direct Connect).
• Establish IAM roles, policies, and security controls following least privilege principles.

3. Automation & Infrastructure

• Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines.
• Create reusable templates and standard configurations for migration and new workloads.

4. Migration Validation & Optimization

• Validate migrated workloads for performance, data integrity, and functionality.
• Monitor and manage replication lag, data consistency, and application behaviour post-migration.
• Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency after migration.

5. Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with application teams, DBAs, security, and project stakeholders throughout migration lifecycle.
• Maintain clear documentation: architecture diagrams, migration plans, SOPs, and runbooks.

Provide knowledge transfer to operations teams for post-migration support.

• Solid knowledge of AWS services: EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53.
• Strong understanding of networking (subnets, routing, VPN, DX).
• Experience with Terraform.
