Job summary

re-zoo-me is seeking a skilled Cloud Database Administrator to manage AWS cloud databases (RDS/DynamoDB/Aurora), ensure backup, HA, and encryption compliance for government applications. The role involves L2 operational support and automation using Python/Bash.

You will collaborate with internal teams on schema changes, tuning, and vulnerability management while using CloudFormation, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch for secure, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in database administration.
• 3+ years in AWS and RDS environments.
• 3-5 years managing SQL-based databases in enterprise or government contexts.
• Exposure to GCC/GCC+ environments is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting for automating DB operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support production and nonproduction AWS cloud databases (RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora).
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability configurations.
• Ensure encryption standards and GCC/GCC+ compliance across systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams for schema changes and query optimisation.
• Identify and patch vulnerabilities based on risk and business impact.
• Monitor performance via CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and Trusted Advisor.
• Design secure, scalable database infra using CloudFormation and Lambda.
• Perform Account Baseline Reviews and periodic access cleanups.
• Provide 24x7 L2 operational support for DB incidents and requests.
• Maintain SHIP-HATS JIRA logs for task tracking and incident resolution.
