Job summary

GIC is seeking a skilled AVP to lead Windows & Private Cloud Operations. You will provide Level 3 support for Windows Server and private cloud platforms, acting as the senior escalation point for the outsourced Level 2 team and driving operational excellence in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
• 6–9 years’ hands-on experience supporting enterprise Windows Server infrastructure.
• Proven experience planning and executing Windows Server upgrades and migrations.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, PKI, SCCM, SCOM, Failover Clustering, VMware, Nutanix/vSAN, Citrix, and PowerShell.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, ITSM, ServiceNow, change management, and enterprise operations.
• Familiarity with automation (PowerShell/Ansible) and CIS/NIST security standards; cloud (AWS/Azure) advantageous.
• Experience with outsourced/managed service providers and on-call support.
• Certifications: Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate; Identity and Access Administrator Associate; VMware VCP-DCV; Citrix CSA; ITIL Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support for complex incidents, problem management, and root cause analysis across Windows and private cloud.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, PKI, SCCM/ MECM, SCOM, VMware, Nutanix/vSAN, Citrix, and secure file transfer platforms.
• Execute Windows Server lifecycle activities, including major OS upgrades, migrations, patching, and platform refreshes.
• Support VMware private cloud operations, virtualization, high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and resilience testing.
• Work with the outsourced L2 service provider by providing technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and operational runbooks.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes through ServiceNow, ensuring governance and audit compliance.
• Implement Windows security standards, identity controls, privileged access, and vulnerability remediation in partnership with Cybersecurity teams.
• Develop automation using PowerShell and Ansible to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, platform standardisation, and technology enhancements.

What impact can you make in this role?

We are seeking a skilled Windows & Private Cloud Operations Engineer to provide hands‑on Level 3 support for our Windows Server and private cloud platforms. This role serves as the senior technical escalation point for the outsourced Level 2 operations team, delivering operational excellence across Windows infrastructure, virtualisation, identity, and platform service.

You will be responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and improving enterprise Windows Server environments, supporting major upgrades and migrations, driving automation, and maintaining secure, resilient operations within a regulated financial environment.

The role includes participation in an on‑call roster and scheduled after‑hours maintenance activities.

• Familiarity with automation (PowerShell/Ansible), CIS/NIST security standards, and public cloud (AWS/Azure) is advantageous.
• Experience supporting outsourced or managed service providers and willingness to participate in on‑call support.
