Job summary

THE JAPAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE, LTD. is seeking an experienced System Analyst to translate business requirements into precise functional and technical specifications, and to work with Solution Architects on scalable technology designs in a Banking IT environment.

You will coordinate between business stakeholders, development, and testing teams, drive process re-engineering, and help shape technology roadmaps. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance & Banking.
• 10+ years working as a System Analyst or similar role.
• Experience in Banking environment with exposure to Digital Channels.
• IT Banking systems experience required.
• Knowledge in Agile / Waterfall Methodology will be an advantage.
• Familiar with business process re-engineering and solution design.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to design scalable, secure technology solutions.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, development and testing teams.
• Drive process re-engineering and target operating models.
• Prepare and review deliverables including specs, designs, API specs and UML models.
• Support PMO with resource estimation, scheduling and budgeting.
• Coordinate SIT and UAT ensuring test coverage aligns with requirements and design.
• Assist in mid-term strategy formulation contributing to roadmaps and optimizations.
• Provide Level 2 functional support and resolve complex issues with teams.
• Ensure governance, security policies, and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Analyze and translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and solution design principles.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to design scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that meet business objectives.
• Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and testing teams, ensuring clear communication and seamless integration of requirements.
• Drive process re-engineering initiatives, defining target operating models and recommending technology-enabled improvements.
• Prepare and review project deliverables, including functional specifications, solution design documents, API specifications, and UML models.
• Support project planning activities with PMO, including resource estimation, scheduling, and budget forecasting.
• Coordinate system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring test coverage aligns with business requirements and technical design.
• Assist in mid-term strategy formulation, contributing to technology roadmaps and solution optimization initiatives.
• Provide Level 2 functional support, investigating and resolving complex issues in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements throughout the solution lifecycle.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Finance & Banking.
• Minimum of 10 years working as a System Analyst or a role holding similar job responsibilities
• Experience in Banking environment with exposure to Digital Channels.
• IT Banking systems experience required.
• Knowledge in Agile / Waterfall Methodology will be an advantage.
• Familiar with business process re-engineering and solution design.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results with these stakeholders in a collaborative manner.
• Excellent communication skills and strong ability to steer / influence positive outcome effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Work on any other projects as assigned.
• Able to manage lite projects independently.
