Job summary

QNB Group in Singapore seeks an experienced leader to establish, develop, and lead the Asset Management function. You will create and manage Asia-based funds and distribute investment products sourced internally and externally, driving growth and strong financial performance while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will lead the AM team, set strategic plans, monitor fund performance, supervise launches, and maintain relationships with clients and regulators, including international standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, finance, mathematics, economics, or related discipline.
• MBA is desirable.
• CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• 12 years of diversified asset management experience, with 3 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare strategic and business development plans for the Singapore AM function.
• Execute AM element of the business plan to deliver targets.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with other divisional heads.
• Originate and maintain effective client relationships.
• Recommend AM/investment solutions to clients to meet expectations.
• Develop proposals to create funds and present to the Investment Management Committee.
• Supervise the launch of new Singapore/Asia-based funds.
• Monitor fund performance and take remedial action when required.
• Ensure compliance with AM policies and regulator requirements.
• Lead and develop the AM team in Singapore.

Job description

The incumbent will be responsible for establishing, developing, and leading QNB Singapore's Asset Management function, including the creation and management of Asia-based funds and the distribution of investment products sourced internally and externally. The role is accountable for driving business growth and financial performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and Group requirements, and leading the Asset Management team to achieve the unit's strategic and operational objectives.

• Prepare the strategic and business development plans for the Singapore AM function
• Execute the Singapore AM element of the AWMG business plan, thereby delivering the budgeted and agreed volume, revenue, and profit targets
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, in co-operation with other divisional heads, thereby facilitating further business growth
• Originate and maintain effective client relationships
• Recommend value-added, AM/investment solutions to existing/potential clients, with the aim of meeting/exceeding clients' expectations
• Develop proposals to create funds and make recommendations to the Investment Management Committee
• Supervise the introduction and launch of new Singapore/Asia-based funds
• Closely monitor the performance of funds under management and take appropriate remedial action if required
• Monitor compliance with the policies/procedures applicable to AM as promulgated by the respective regulators (Qatar Central Bank and the Monetary Authority of Singapore)
• Lead and take responsibility for the professionalism, performance, development and business success of all members of the Singapore AM team

Education / Experience requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA is desirable.
• CFA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
• 12 years' diversified Asset Management experience, of which 3 years must have been in a leadership role in a comparable department.
• Good knowledge of the Asset Management business, including a detailed understanding of the laws, regulations and practices relating to the provision of AM products and services.
• Understanding and awareness of risk measurement and management techniques and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability and self-confidence to communicate ideas effectively to all levels of management.
• Highly developed leadership, people management, problem-solving, planning, organizational and analytical skills, including experience of leading teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.
