Job summary

OCBC Group in Singapore is seeking an experienced transformation leader to drive the modernization of Group Payment Operations through platform solutions, automation, and technology initiatives, based in Tampines.

You will shape the future-state operating model, partner across Ops, Technology, Risk, and Compliance, and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, resilience, and client experience through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in payments or banking functions.
  • Strong understanding of payment operations and platforms.
  • Experience with SWIFT, cross-border, real-time payments, ISO 20022.

Responsibilities

  • Lead modernization initiatives for payment operations and platforms.
  • Define target operating model aligning process, people, and technology.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Product, Architecture, and Operations to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Drive implementation of new payment platforms and automation capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes via digitization and STP enhancements.
  • Manage end-to-end transformation programs within time and budget.

General Description

We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking transformation leader to drive the modernization of Group Payment Operations through strategic platform solutions, process automation, and technology transformation initiatives. This role will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of next‑generation payment platforms, leveraging automation, workflow orchestration, data‑driven insights, and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency, resilience, scalability, and client experience. As a key member of the transformation team, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Technology, Product, Operations Risk, Compliance, and external technology partners to deliver strategic modernization programs across the payment’s ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future‑state operating model, ensuring platforms and processes are aligned with the organization’s growth strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming payment operations into a highly automated, resilient, and intelligent organization capable of supporting evolving business and client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic payment operations transformation initiatives focused on platform modernization, process & workflow automation.
  • Define and drive the target‑state operating model for payment operations, aligning process, people, technology, and governance capabilities.
  • Partner with Technology, Product, Architecture, and Operations teams to deliver scalable platform solutions that improve operational efficiency, control effectiveness, and client outcomes.
  • Drive the implementation and adoption of modern payment processing platforms, workflow orchestration solutions, case management systems, and intelligent automation capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and simplify operational processes through digitization, straight‑through processing (STP) enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • Lead business requirements definition, solution design reviews, user acceptance testing, implementation planning, end‑to‑end operational readiness and post‑deployment stabilization activities.
  • Manage end‑to‑end transformation programs, ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives within scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Lead process re‑engineering initiatives to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual interventions, and strengthen operational controls.
  • Support the standardization and harmonization of payment processes across geographies and payment products.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Operations and Technology teams, translating business requirements into effective platform solutions.
  • Utilize AI, data analytics, digitisation tools, operational insights, and transformation metrics to identify process gaps, drive automation opportunities, and deliver measurable uplift in efficiency, controls, scalability, and service performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5‑8 years of experience in payment operations or related banking functions.
  • Strong understanding of payment operations, payment processing platforms, workflow management, case management, and automation technologies.
  • Experience working across payment products including SWIFT, cross‑border payments, real‑time payments, domestic clearing systems, and ISO 20022 initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead transformation initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, control, scalability, and client experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across Operations, Technology, Product, Risk, and Compliance functions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities with a data‑driven approach to transformation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior management and governance forums.
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, project governance, and transformation frameworks is highly desirable.

Side note: This role requires 100% work in office, based at Tampines.
