Job summary

OCBC Bank in Singapore is seeking a Data Engineer (AVP) to design, build, and optimize data pipelines powering an enterprise‑grade data warehouse and AI knowledge base within a banking environment.

You’ll work with senior engineers and the head of data engineering to transform structured and unstructured data into reliable datasets that support risk, engagement, fraud detection, and automation use cases. Opportunity to grow into streaming and AI‑driven products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or related roles.
• Solid hands-on experience building data pipelines on modern data architectures (data warehouse, lakehouse, batch/real-time).
• Experience with AI knowledge base concepts, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search is a plus.
• Hands-on RAG pipeline components: chunking, embeddings, retrieval are a plus.
• Experience in banking/financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines powering data warehouse / lakehouse platforms (Cloudera, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Develop data models for reusable analytical datasets and reporting foundations.
• Develop and maintain batch data processing jobs using Spark, SQL, Python or Java.
• Support real-time streaming pipelines using Flink or similar tools under guidance.
• Build and operate CDC pipelines (Debezium, Confluent, Fivetran).
• Create ingestion pipelines from APIs, GA4, and other sources.
• Implement messaging/streaming integrations using Pub/Sub and Kafka.
• Write clean, tested SQL and Python scripts for data ingestion and processing.
