Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems.
  • 6–10 years in pricing and data operations in asset management or finance.
  • Experience with reference and master data across lifecycle stages.
  • Foundational understanding of financial instruments; derivatives a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with high data quality focus.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across business and tech teams.
  • Self-starter with quick learning in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with operational improvement or change initiatives.
  • Solid data management principles, processes, and controls.
  • Familiarity with Python/SQL or AI-enabled tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support day-to-day pricing operations across ingestion, quality checks, and exception handling.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues and process gaps impacting downstream systems.
  • Serve as pricing SME, gathering requirements for pricing data.
  • Perform data stewardship to align pricing data with enterprise standards.
  • Partner with technology teams and MSPs to operate and enhance MDM and pricing data processes.
  • Support assessments of data readiness for new investment products, structures, markets, and regulations.
  • Participate in UAT and business validation for data changes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and change initiatives.
  • Contribute to enhancement of GIC’s data management capabilities using best practices and AI where appropriate.

Global Investment Services

GIS provides strategic investment services and financial management across GIC’s public and private market asset classes. Leveraging data and emerging technologies, the department drives the development and execution of business infrastructure plans while shaping scalable, agile, and resilient operating models that enable growth and deliver operational excellence.

GIS provides operational expertise spanning market settlements, transaction management and execution, investment data management, portfolio finance, valuations, accounting, and tax services, as well as portfolio administration.

Investment Enterprise Data Solutions

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering enterprise data capabilities that support investment decision‑making across public and private markets. This includes designing and leading strategic data solutions, managing the investment book of record, and developing robust reference data frameworks. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across investment, risk, technology, and other enterprise functions to implement scalable data services and solutions that enable new investment strategies and products. Through strategic partnerships and best practices in data management, you will help build a unified, resilient, and future‑ready data ecosystem for the firm.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of an integrated team that provides investment services across all public and private markets asset classes for GIC.

What will you do as an AVP, Business Data Operations?
  • Manage and support day‑to‑day pricing operations across ingestion, quality checks and exception handling.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues and process gaps that impact downstream investment and reporting systems.
  • Serve as a pricing Subject Matter Expert, working with stakeholders to understand requirements for pricing data.
  • Perform data stewardship responsibilities, ensuring pricing data aligns with enterprise definitions, standards, and control frameworks.
  • Partner with technology teams and managed service providers to operate and enhance MDM platforms and pricing data processes.
  • Support assessments of data and operational readiness for new investment products, structures, markets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and business validation for data changes and enhancements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and change initiatives, including opportunities to reinvigorate pricing data operations, strengthen controls, and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of GIC’s data management capabilities by applying industry best practices and emerging tools, including automation or AI‑enabled capabilities where appropriate.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in pricing and data operations in asset management, or financial services environments.
  • Experience working with reference data, master data, or investment data domains across multiple lifecycle stages.
  • Foundational understanding of financial instruments; exposure to derivatives is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with high attention to detail and data quality.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
  • Self‑starter with strong learning agility, comfortable operating in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience or aptitude in operational improvement or change initiatives, including reinvigorating existing processes.
  • Forward‑looking mindset with sound understanding of data management principles, processes, and controls.
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, or AI‑enabled data tools is a plus.
