Job summary

Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) in Singapore is seeking a forward-looking Robotics-AI engineer to develop AI-driven autonomy capabilities for autonomous platforms operating in complex environments.

You will design, build and test perception, localisation, mapping, navigation and mission autonomy systems, applying deep learning, reinforcement learning and foundation-model approaches. Collaboration with robotics, AI and systems engineers will be essential.

Qualifications

• Degree/Masters in Robotics, AI, CS or a related discipline.
• Hands-on robotics development with both software and hardware integration.
• Experience with ROS 2 and robotics simulation platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Curiosity and passion for autonomy challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop perception, localisation, mapping, navigation and mission autonomy.
• Apply AI techniques including deep learning, RL and foundation models to robotics.
• Lead software and hardware integration and conduct extensive testing from simulations to field trials.
• Analyse autonomy stack performance to improve robustness and real-time behavior.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate breakthroughs into deployable capabilities.
