Job summary

KARCHER ROBOTICS SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is hiring to develop AI-enabled cleaning intelligence for autonomous robots. You will work across robotics software, AI perception, navigation, and system engineering to deploy robust, certifiable capabilities in real-world outdoor operations.

The role focuses on sim-to-real improvement, simulation-based testing, and advancing operator-safe automation through perception, planning, and validation workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics or Mechatronics, or related field.
• Master's or PhD is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI models, modules, and software features for cleaning intelligence, including debris detection, zone understanding, behavior adaptation, and anomaly detection.
• Design and implement AI-driven robotic behavior modules interfacing with ROS 2, Nav2, mission planning, perception, localization, mapping, and application layers.
• Improve and maintain robot simulation environments using Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim and related tools.
• Reduce sim-to-real gap by improving robot models, sensor models, environment realism, scenario coverage, physics assumptions, perception inputs, and validation workflows.
• Develop simulation-based test suites for robot behavior, navigation, perception outputs, safety scenarios, and mission-level performance.
• Build automated regression tests to validate robot software across releases, including scenario replay and benchmarking.
• Support AI perception development including dataset prep, model evaluation, deployment optimization, inference performance, and MLOps workflows.
• Collaborate to integrate perception model outputs into robot behaviors, safety layers, and mission-level decision-making.
• Develop tools/workflows for AI model lifecycle management, including data collection, dataset versioning, model evaluation, and deployment tracking.
• Contribute to safety-oriented software features such as speed-limiting logic and safety layers, and support safety certification activities.
• Research and prototype future embodied AI capabilities for cleaning robotics and validate on real robots through field tests.
