Job summary

NEXBRIDGE RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. Singapore is seeking an experienced car mechanic responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles.

You will supervise a small team, mentor apprentices, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards, including road tests and documentation. Candidates should have at least 3 years' hands-on experience, be able to diagnose Japanese, Continental and hybrid vehicles, read diagnostic reports, and work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a car mechanic.
• Able to diagnose Japanese, Continental and hybrid vehicles.
• Able to read diagnostic reports.
• Experience supervising a team of 3 to 8 mechanics.
• Experience in quality control and training junior mechanics.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic issues on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, air-conditioning and electrical systems.
• Perform vehicle inspections, identify potential concerns early, and conduct road tests before and after repairs.
• Check all completed work against quality and manufacturer standards before vehicle release.
• Ensure proper diagnosis procedures are followed before repairs begin, keeping rework and customer complaints to a minimum.
• Maintain accurate repair records and job documentation.
• Supervise daily workshop operations and assign jobs to mechanics based on skill level and priorities.
• Coach, train and mentor junior mechanics and apprentices; monitor performance and help identify training needs.
• Support the Workshop Manager in meeting productivity targets and job completion timelines.
• Keep tools, equipment and workshop facilities in good working condition, and report defects promptly.
• Assist with inventory monitoring and parts management, working closely with Parts Advisors and Service Advisors.
• Help Service Advisors explain technical findings and repair recommendations to customers.
• Uphold workplace safety, proper PPE use and workshop housekeeping; report hazards, near misses and incidents.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
