Job summary

Illumina Singapore is seeking an Automation Software professional to support successful product launches by delivering automated software solutions for high-volume manufacturing. You will work with vendors and internal teams to ensure software modeling standards align with equipment requirements and participate in equipment buy-off and qualification.

The role collaborates across Project, Software, Design, Validation, Process, Manufacturing and Quality functions, contributing to FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C#, C++, Python and/or SQL programming.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Beckhoff or Siemens preferred).
• Experience in 21CFR, Part11 and Data integrity

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define software requirements for new equipment.
• Contribute to project timelines and software deliverables.
• Coordinate with Project, Software, Design, Validation, Process, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Assist in verification and validation of requirements against as-built equipment.
• Participate in commissioning activities like FAT and SAT for equipment buy-off.
• Participate in qualification activities like IQ, OQ and PQ for equipment release.

Position Summary

As Illumina embraces the change for the next industrial revolution, the function for the Automation team within Illumina Singapore is to support successful product launch. The incumbent will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deliver customized solutions for manufacturing to achieve high standards of automated operations for high volume production in Singapore. The role will be part of the Automation software project team. He/She is expected to work closely with the software team in verifying and implementing software modelling standards against the software requirements for the new equipment. Be part of the team in equipment buy off and qualification.

Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various stake holders of various internal and external function for aligning and defining the software requirements
• Responsible for contributing to the project timeline and software deliverables
• Collaborate strongly with various representatives (Project, Software, Design, Validation, Process, Manufacturing and Quality) within the Project.
• Extending support in verifying and validating requirement against as built equipment
• Participant in Commissioning activities like FAT and SAT for Equipment buy off
• Participant in Qualification activities like IQ, OQ and PQ for Equipment release

Position Requirements

• Proficiency in C#, C++, Python and/or SQL programming skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and system administration of Microsoft Operating System
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Beckhoff or Siemens preferred)
• Experience in 21CFR, Part11 and Data integrity
• Experience in full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Experience in writing technical requirements
• Experience in software testing (Unit Testing, Integration Testing and System Testing) and verification over various system commission (FAT and SAT) and qualification (IQ, OQ and PQ)
• Experience in electromechanical controls, vision systems, RFID technologies, articulated robots and industrial communication protocols

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills

• Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience
• Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools to enhance software development, testing, debugging, documentation and overall engineering productivity
• Experience in MES manufacturing environment is an advantage
• Experience in high-volume, high-tech consumables manufacturing environment
• Experience in Python, data/cloud analytics and Machine Learning is an advantage
• QMS and Life Science Regulatory Requirement Knowledge will be an add advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Attention to detail and willing to deep dive into data
• Able to execute tasks independently and with guidance as necessary from project lead or manager
