Job summary

MCI Career Services Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of industrial automation systems, including ASRS, conveyors, lifters and PLC-controlled equipment. You will develop PLC/HMI programs, work with Siemens PLCs, define technical specs for contractors, and assist with installation projects.

A diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic is required, with experience in automation and willingness for overseas

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in electrical/electronic/mechatronic engineering.
• Experience in industrial automation maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, control systems and electrical installation.
• Siemens PLC knowledge preferred.
• Experience with ASRS, conveyors or WMS advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, servicing and repairs of ASRS, conveyor systems, lifters and automated equipment.
• Conduct machine start-up, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Develop and interpret PLC/HMI programs, electrical single-line drawings and control schematics.
• Work with Siemens PLC systems and support automation-related programming.
• Define technical specifications and scope of work for contractors.
• Support equipment installation, upgrades and project implementation.
• Prepare technical reports, service records and maintenance documentation.
• Diagnose faults, recommend solutions and ensure timely follow-up.

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of industrial automation systems. This role involves working with Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), conveyor systems, lifters and PLC-controlled equipment. The successful candidate will also support installation projects, provide technical assistance to customers and participate in overseas assignments.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, servicing and repairs of ASRS, conveyor systems, lifters and automated equipment.
• Conduct machine start-up, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Develop and interpret PLC/HMI programs, electrical single-line drawings and control schematics.

Requirements:

• Professional Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in industrial automation, equipment maintenance or technical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, control systems and electrical installation/upgrading.
• Familiarity with Siemens PLC is preferred.
• Knowledge of C# programming is an advantage.
• Experience with ASRS, conveyor systems or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) will be an advantage.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure and manage customer issues professionally.
• Willing to participate in rotational standby duties and overseas assignments.
