Job summary

SHIMANO (SINGAPORE) PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer to design 3D/2D CAD for industrial automation equipment and systems. You will develop automation solutions, analyze processes, and lead projects from concept to commissioning across Asia.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and multi-tasking abilities, with regular travel across Asia and overtime as needed. Working location is Bulim Walk, Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3+ years of automation design experience preferred.
• Proficient in 3D/2D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, NX, AutoCAD, DraftSight, etc.).
• Experience in Industrial Automation, Robotics, Vision Systems, Jigs and Fixtures is preferred.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel across Asia regions for short/long durations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D and 2D CAD of Industrial Automation Equipment and Systems.
• Develop automation solutions and analyze manufacturing and supply chain processes.

• Prepare project and design documentation, BOM and technical reports.
• Manage and report on project schedule, budget, and technical solutions to stakeholders.

• Support on-site installation, troubleshooting and testing of automation systems.
• Recommend automation opportunities to business owners and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to develop automation solutions.
• Stay updated on industrial automation advancements and drive implementation initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

• Initiate optimization and breakthrough solutions using automation and mechanization to improve productivity and quality
• Prepare project and design documentations, BOM and technical reports
• Manage and report on project schedule, budget, and technical solutions to stakeholders
• Manage and lead projects from conceptualization through commissioning and stabilization
• Support on-site installation, troubleshooting and testing of automation systems
• Recommend internal and external business owners on automation opportunities
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to develop automation solutions
• Keep abreast on industrial automation advancement and drive implementation initiatives
• Any ad hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirement:

• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
• At least 3 years of Automation Design experiences is preferred
• Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD Software (Solidworks, Inventor, NX, AutoCAD, Draftsight, etc.)
• Preferably experienced in Industrial Automation, Robotics Systems, Vision Systems, Jigs and Fixtures
• Experienced in Material Selection, Fabrication Methods and Components Selection will be advantageous;
• Strong Leadership, Project Management and Decision-Making Skills
• Skilled Project Pitching Skills to Business Owners
• Good Multi-tasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment
• Able to travel around Asia Regions regularly for short and long duration
• Able to perform overtime if needed
