Job summary

CASEY LIN & COMPANY seeks an experienced Audit Professional to conduct risk assessments, plan and execute audits, test controls, and report findings. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, improving internal controls, and contributing to year-end activities with external auditors.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years in auditing, with supervisory experience, and strong English and Chinese language skills. Knowledge of IFRS/SFRS and US GAAP is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CA Singapore qualifications or other recognized accounting credentials.
• Minimum 5 years in auditing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of IFRS/SFRS; US GAAP knowledge would be an advantage.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
• Able to start on short notice.
• Capability to grow the firm’s client base and contribute to audits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and identify controls to mitigate risks.
• Plan audit and review activities across the organisation.
• Perform audit procedures to verify controls via testing and interviews.
• Analyse and conclude on effectiveness of controls.
• Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Follow up to ensure closure of audit issues.
• Oversee audit engagements, quality, delivery and budget.
• Document audit results and work performed.
• Contribute to year-end financial audit with external auditor.
• Provide advice on internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
• Enhance internal audit standards and corporate governance compliance.
• Implement and support Enterprise Risk Management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Town Councils Act and Financial Rules.
• Review contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
• Support Internal Audit Subcommittee and Investment & Funds Subcommittee.
• Supervise and manage audit staff.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• 1) Conduct detailed risk assessments and identify controls in place to mitigate identified risks.
• 2) Plan audit and review activities across the organisation.
• 3) Undertake audit procedures to verify that controls are operating through testing and interviewing techniques.
• 4) Analyse and conclude on the effectiveness and efficiency of controls.
• 5) Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• 6) Perform timely follow-up and ensure proper closure of audit issues.
• 7) Responsible for audit engagements quality, delivery, and budget.
• 8) Document the results of audit issues and work performed.
• 9) Contribute to the year-end financial audit with the external auditor.
• 10) Provide advice on internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
• 11) Enhance internal audit standards and practices within the Town Council Review compliance with Corporate Governance requirements as stipulated by relevant government agencies.
• 12) Implement and support Enterprise Risk Management initiatives as required.
• 13) Ensure compliance with the Town Councils Act, Town Councils Financial Rules, and other statutory requirements.
• 14) Review contractor compliance with contractual specifications and obligations.
• 15) Facilitate and support the Internal Audit Subcommittee and Investment & Funds Subcommittee.

Job Requirement

• 1) Audit professional with one or more of the following qualifications:
  • i) Recognised Bachelor Degree in Accounting;
  • ii) Possess CA Singapore Qualifications;
  • iii) Possess other professional accountancy qualifications from recognized accountancy bodies that are recognized in Singapore including ACCA / ICAEW / Singapore CNCPA Australia or equivalent;
• 2) Minimum of 5 years in auditing with at least 1 year in a supervisory role and currently working in the audit profession preferred.
• 3) Knowledge and competent to handle all auditing areas and the International Financial Reporting Standards and the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards. Knowledge and experience of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles will be an advantage.
• 4) Fluent in verbal and written English and Chinese language:.
• 5) Salary commensurate with work experience in auditing.
• 6) Able to start at short notice will be an advantage.
• 7) Able to contribute to the Firm and can grow the Firm's client base.
• 8) Strong technical knowledge will be an advantage.
• 9) Have experience in auditing construction companies.
• 10) Able to audit work in progress (WIP) for outstanding projects, construction costs, revenue recognition, and project profitability
• 11) Able to consolidate financial statements in Singapore for businesses
