Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking an AV Technician to install, operate and maintain AV equipment for events and venues. You will support event users, set up microphones, speakers, projectors and media displays, and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe operation.

The role requires hands-on experience with AV/Video and Lighting technologies, good English communication, and willingness to work shifts and occasional overtime. Training and SOP updates are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3 years of work experience with AV system and relevant computer knowledge.
• Outgoing personality and inquisitive mindset to explore and uncover technicalities to everyday problems.
• Communicate and write in English for effective execution of routine duties.
• Good safety mindset and displays good workplace health safety behaviour.
• Able to work shifts on Public Holidays, weekends and perform overtime duties when required.
• Hands-on experience on show-entertainment devices AV/Video and Lighting technologies, preferably with AVLC system integration experience.
• Comfortable to work at height.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office)

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up AV equipment and provide technical support advice to event users and organisers.
• Set up and install microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, recording equipment, cables and connecting wires.
• Provide lighting, sound and stage requirements as needed.
• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance and comply with safety at work.
• Inform Supervisor of any unusual occurrence or damage at the work site.
• Daily checks on cleanliness and testing of all equipment before and after each event.
• Conduct up to intermediate level troubleshooting of AV equipment.
• Assist to load digital content onto media display panels.
• Assist with events logistics support aside from AV systems during VIP visits, events and client requests.
• Verify and endorse completion of work carried out by Term and Ad-hoc vendors/Sub-contractors.
• Standby for meetings, events and video conferences where AV equipment is used.
• Liaise with OEMs/vendors for repairs or servicing.
• Train buddy on AV setup and troubleshooting.
• Maintain AV system inventory and asset tracking.
• Review and update SOPs for AV systems.

• Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing.
• Provide lighting / sound / stage requirements as and when required.
• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance and comply with safety at work.
• Inform Supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or may occur at work site.
• Daily checks on the cleanliness and testing of all equipment in Auditorium, Theatre, Training, Meeting rooms before and after each event.
• Conduct up to intermediate level troubleshooting of AV equipment.
• Assist to load the digital content onto the media display panels
• Assist with events logistics support aside from AV systems in VIP visits, events and to client requests, when required.
• Verify and endorse of completion of work carry out by Term and Ad-hoc vendors/ Sub-contractors.
• Any other duties deemed necessary for the effective management & accomplishment of the department's objective.
