Job summary

Hutaoli in Singapore invites an Audio Technician / Sound Engineer to join our in‑house production team at a live music venue. You will deliver high‑quality live sound for performances, manage front‑of‑house and on‑stage monitoring, and support artists throughout shows.

Ideal candidates are hands‑on, able to work under pressure, and fluent in Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin‑speaking performers and operate interfaces in Chinese where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in live sound reinforcement and audio system operation.
• Familiarity with digital mixing consoles and pro live audio equipment.
• Understanding of signal flow and microphone techniques.
• Ability to work independently and stay calm in fast-paced live settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin-speaking performers and to operate Chinese interfaces.
• Physically fit to lift and move gear.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and dismantle audio equipment for live performances.
• Mix Front of House and stage monitor sound for live bands and performers.
• Conduct soundchecks and coordinate with musicians to achieve the best possible sound.
• Monitor and adjust audio levels during performances.
• Troubleshoot audio issues during rehearsals and live shows.
• Maintain microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors, wireless systems, cables, mixing consoles.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment.
• Assist with stage setup, changeovers, and technical support for venue operations.
• Coordinate with venue management and performers for smooth events.
• Keep stage and FOH area clean, organized, and safe.

Sat & PH EVE - 6pm to 4am

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality live sound for performances, ensuring smooth technical operations, and supporting artists throughout their shows.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and dismantle audio equipment for live performances and events.

• Mix Front of House (FOH) and stage monitor sound for live bands and performers.

• Conduct soundchecks and work closely with musicians to achieve the best possible sound.

• Monitor and adjust audio levels throughout performances.

• Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and efficiently during rehearsals and live shows.

• Maintain and organise microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors, wireless systems, cables, mixing consoles, and other audio equipment.

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs to ensure equipment is in good working condition.

• Assist with stage setup, changeovers, and general technical support for venue operations.

• Coordinate with venue management and performers to ensure events run smoothly.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stage and FOH working environment.

Requirements

• Experience in live sound reinforcement and audio system operation.

• Familiarity with digital mixing consoles and professional live audio equipment.

• Good understanding of signal flow, microphone techniques, stage monitoring, and audio troubleshooting.

• Able to work independently and remain calm in a fast‑paced live environment.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Proficient in spoken Mandarin to communicate effectively with Mandarin‑speaking performers and to operate audio systems where software, documentation, or interfaces may be primarily in Chinese.

• Physically fit and able to lift and move audio equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in live houses, music venues, bars, clubs, or event production.

• Basic knowledge of stage lighting or audiovisual (AV) systems is an advantage.

• Passion for live music and customer service.
