Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), part of NHG Health, is seeking an Operating Theatre Assistant to support safe and efficient surgical care. You will assist in preparing theatres, support patient transfers, and maintain a clean, organized environment.

This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting, with rotating 3-shift schedules including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work rotating 3-shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, pushing equipment and assisting with patient transfers.
• Team-oriented and able to work independently when required.
• Demonstrates high standards of hygiene, infection control and safety.

Responsabilités

• Support patient care activities before, during and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating theatres according to the daily surgical schedule.
• Check and ensure readiness of operating theatre equipment.
• Collect and manage soiled linen from theatres and changing rooms.
• Segregate and dispose of general and biohazard waste per safety rules.
• Transport patients between wards and the operating theatre.
• Provide despatch and logistical support as needed.
• Maintain operating theatre supplies and inventory.
• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.

Join our Operating Theatre team and play an important role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. As an Operating Theatre Assistant, you will assist in preparing operating theatres, supporting patient transfers, and maintaining a clean and organised surgical environment.

This role is suitable for individuals who are dependable, attentive to details, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating theatres according to the daily surgical schedule.
• Check, maintain, and ensure readiness of operating theatre equipment.
• Collect, bag, and clear soiled linen from operating theatres, disposal areas, and changing rooms.
• Segregate and dispose of general and biohazard waste in accordance with established safety protocols.
• Transport patients safely between wards and the operating theatre.
• Perform despatch and logistical support duties as required.
• Replenish, organise, and maintain operating theatre supplies and inventory.
• Adhere to infection control, workplace safety, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Secondary education or equivalent qualification.
• Able to work rotating 3-shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to perform duties that involve prolonged standing, walking, pushing equipment, and assisting with patient transfers.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
