Job summary

Merck Life Science in Singapore is seeking an Associate Scientist III – Biosafety Testing to support GMP operations. You will perform biosafety assays in Molecular Biology and NGS labs, qualify reagents, monitor stock, and maintain equipment to ensure smooth workflows.

You may train or mentor junior lab staff and collaborate with scientists, support services, and lab personnel to uphold quality and safety in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Biological Sciences or higher qualification in relevant scientific subject.
• 3+ years in biologics or biopharmaceutical industry and GMP environment.
• 2+ years in molecular biology, virology, microbiology with troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform biosafety assays in Molecular Biology and NGS labs following SOPs.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and QA records to GMP standards.
• Train and mentor junior lab staff as needed.
• Monitor stock levels and procure consumables using designated systems.
• Ensure audit readiness and participate in quality/regulatory audits.
