Job summary

Abbott in Singapore is seeking an Associate Microbiologist to oversee microbiological testing and ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, and ISO standards. You will lead a team of analysts, review results, and support production with on-site guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Based in Tuas, you will drive training, manage schedules, participate in audits, and collaborate with QA and manufacturing to maintain data integrity and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a microbiology lab or regulated manufacturing environment.
• BSc in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Food Science or related with 1–3 years experience.
• Diploma in related field with 3–5 years experience.
• Competent in microbiological techniques and laboratory instrumentation including aseptic technique and VIDAS.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, time management and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure laboratory safety and GMP, cGMP and GLP compliance at all times.
• Lead a team of analysts; monitor training compliance and performance.
• Review test results; ensure results meet specifications prior to batch release.
• Participate in batch release meetings and coordinate testing priorities.
• Demonstrate understanding of microbiological principles and lab practices.
• Oversee test scheduling, resources, and workload prioritization.
