Job summary

Langham Hall Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Associate Private Equity Fund Accountant to join our growing Asia team. The role offers structured training, study support for ACCA/CPA, and exposure to private equity and real estate fund accounting.

You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting financial statement preparation, client liaison, and fund maintenance while progressing toward professional qualifications and enhanced client service capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or related discipline.
• 2–3 years accounting work experience.
• Pursuing professional accountancy (ACCA/CPA) with some modules completed.
• Experience using accounting packages for bookkeeping and reporting.
• Client service experience is a plus.
• Mandarin speaking/writing is a plus but not essential.
• Proficient Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to present neat work.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of financial statements under IFRS/US GAAP.
• Liaise with client teams to obtain accounting information and discuss issues.
• Record transactions in the accounting system, perform bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and fund transaction analysis.
• Prepare fund correspondence and maintain client files.
• Maintain full accounts for the fund structure using our Private Equity accounting system.
• Provide AML/KYC, FATCA, CRS compliance support.
• Assist with capital calls/distributions and related client communications.
• Support year-end audits by preparing schedules.
• Mentor junior team members.

Associate Private Equity Fund Accountant

Training and Qualification support:

• We offer full training and support via our ‘Asia – Personal Development Programmer’. This coves technical training such as in private equity and real estate funds and understanding the impact of latest accounting standards and exposure draft applicable to clients. In addition, non-technical skill development is provided such as to include communication, effective team working and organisational skills training.
• We offer examination support including paid exam leave, membership & exam fee support.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and U.S. GAAP and quarterly investor reporting with financial performance calculations such as multiples and IRR.
• Liaison with the client’s working team members to request accounting information and discuss accounting issues.
• Recording transactions in our financial accounting system, including bookkeeping for purchase and sales invoices, bank reconciliations, and analysis of fund transactions.
• Administration work including preparing fund correspondence and notices and ensuring that our permanent files are adequately maintained for new and existing clients.
• Maintenance of the full sets of accounts for the fund structure using our Private Equity implementation financial accounting system.
• Provide ongoing compliance support for clients including AML/KYC, FATCA and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
• Supporting the technical calculation of capital call / distribution and preparation of correspondence in accordance with the legal documents of the fund.
• Supporting the client during the year-end audit, including the preparation of audit schedules
• Overseeing work of junior team members

Requirements:

• Degree holder with major in accounting orbusiness-related disciplines.
• Typically 2-3 years prior accounting work experience.
• Candidate will have embarked on professional accountancy course study from a recognised body (e.g. ACCA,CPA etc.) and have completed and passed some modules already.
• Experience in using accounting packages for bookkeeping and report production.
• Client service experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Mandarin speaking and writing is a plus but not essential.
• A positive attitude, a sense of satisfaction from doing your best, and self-discipline.
• Microsoft Excel and Word experience, including the ability to produce neatly presented work.
